Executive Severance by Robert K. Blechman is a delightful mystery written in real time Tweets. Starting in May of 2009 the author posted a new Executive Severance tweet twice a day every day for 15 months, thus creating a new art form. $16.95

Heidi Julavits signed The Vanishers, a novel receiving outstanding reviews from her peers. Julia Severn is a student at an elite institute for psychics where she locks horns with her mentor, who subjects Julia to the humiliation of reliving her mother’s suicide. Julia retreats to Manhattan where she’s recruited to track down a missing person, an artist who might have a connection to her mother. Yrsa Sigurdardottir signed Ashes to Dust, a thriller set in Iceland where a crew is about to excavate the site of a village buried by lava in a volcanic eruption. Markus, who was a teenager when the volcano erupted, enlists the help of attorney Thora Gudmundsdottir to try to prevent the excavation from going forward. When bodies turn up in Markus’s childhood home, Thora begins to question her client’s motives for wanting to stop the excavation. $26.99

Also here was Helene Tursten, another Scandinavian star, who signed Night Rounds, the follow-up to Tursten’s first book, Detective Inspector Huss. Irene Huss is a former Ju-Jitsu champion and a Detective Inspector in the Violent Crimes Unit in Goteborg, Sweden. One nurse lies dead and another vanishes after their hospital is hit by a blackout. The only witness claims to have seen Nurse Tekla doing her rounds, but Nurse Tekla died sixty years ago. Iren Huss must untangle this intriguing case. $25.00

Since it has proven to be the most popular list we send out, we’re again offering some books in one of the most interesting sub-genres of the mystery world, "Bibliomysteries," which are books about books. They may be set in bookstores or libraries, they may involve collectors, librarians or authors, or they may involve rare books or manuscripts, but, for all of us who love the world of books, these are among the most satisfying books in the field, both for readers and for the many collectors who have specialized in these titles. Second printing Contains this story with much about the technical aspects of publishing in England and America. The Sophie Lang character served as the basis for three Paramount films, all starring Gertrude Michael: The Notorious Sophie Lang (1934), The Return of Sophie Lang (1936) and Sophie Lang Goes West (1937).
