PHOEBE ATWOOD TAYLOR
Phoebe Atwood Taylor (1909-1976) wrote her last mystery in 1951 but remained so popular that her regular publisher, W.W. Norton, reissued them all in hardcover. Her series about Asey Mayo, known as "the Cape Cod Sherlock," is noted for its fair play detection and humor, as is the series she wrote about Leonidas Witherall (who looks like William Shakespeare) under the Alice Tilton pseudonym. The following books, except where noted, all feature Mayo and are the handsomely produced matching Norton reprints of the 1960s and ‘70s and are in fine condition in fine or near fine dust jackets (with possibly a bit of wear at spine ends). Norton did not date the series, but original publication dates are listed.
