Joseph Finder stopped by (as promised) and signed Vanished. This thriller introduces Nick Heller who was trained in the Special Forces. Nick is asked by his sister-in-law to find his brother who disappeared after the couple was attacked. $25.99

Big Machine by Victor LaValle features Ricky Rice, a middle-aged hustler with a lingering junk habit, a bum knee, and a haunted mind. He gets by as a porter at a bus depot in Utica, New York, until a letter arrives reminding him of a vow he once made and summoning him to Vermont. An Unclassifiable Club Selection. $25.00









NOT SIGNED

A reminder that Inherent Vice by Thomas Pynchon is a mystery and one of the author’s most accessible books. Set in L.A. in the late 1960s, Pynchon is remarkably at ease in this genre. He’s a recluse and won’t sign. Not ever. $27.95

We had a wonderful event this past week commemorating the life and work of Donald E. Westlake. The store was full of love and admiration for one of our favorite writers. Get Real is his last Dortmunder novel. $23.99
