Weekly Update 9/16/11

EVENTS

Wednesday, September 21st. 6.30 p.m. - 8.00 p.m.

One of our favorite publishers, Hard Case Crime, took a small hiatus but has now started publishing again with some great new titles. Help us celebrate the re-launch with the following authors:

Lawrence Block (as Jill Emerson) - Getting Off $25.99

Christa Faust - Choke Hold $9.95

Also on hand will be Hard Case publisher and author Charles Ardai, plus Hard Case authors Russell Atwood, and Peter Pavla.

Friday, September 23rd. 6.00 p.m. - 8.00 p.m.

We will be celebrating Irish crime fiction with bestselling and emerging authors who have ties to the Emerald Isle: Alex Barclay, Colin Bateman, Declan Burke, John Connolly, Pete Hamill, Declan Hughes, Arlene Hunt, Stuart Neville, and Peter Quinn.

We’ll have copies of Down These Green Streets, a collection of essays on the subject of modern Irish crime writing. We will get copies signed by all the authors, however, we do not know at this point if we are going to be receiving first editions (in paperback). Let us know if you’d like a copy signed by all authors, regardless of edition.

Refreshments will be served.

SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENT

The Mysterious Press is going digital

In 1975, Otto Penzler founded The Mysterious Press. Now the Press is going digital!

Working in conjunction with Open Road Integrated Media, we’re publishing ebook versions of classic works of crime, mystery and suspense fiction. Many of these books have been out of print but protected by copyright, so they haven’t been readily available until now.

Our website, MysteriousPress.com is still under construction, but should be live shortly. In the meantime, you can follow us on Twitter @emysteries (https://twitter.com/emysteries), as well as become a fan of MysteriousPress.Com on Facebook (https://www.facebook.com/MysteriousPress.Com)

By following us on these social networking sites, you’ll learn exactly when the site goes live, as well as be eligible for a very exciting giveaway we have planned (the details of which we’ll be announcing soon)
